We are determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation. Only by tackling these three essentials, in ways that last, can people change their lives for good.

In India, WASH society works with communities in rural, tribal and urban areas through partners. Thanks to our amazing supporters, we have reached millions of people with these three essentials – clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene – enabling communities to unlock their potential to break free from the cycle of poverty and to change lives for good.

We will not stop. Not until clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene are a normal part of everyday life for everyone, everywhere in INDIA.

Clean water

Today, we reel under the worst water crisis ever. We work towards solutions with communities that last a lifetime and beyond.

Decent toilets

Without decent toilets, diseases spread fast and dignity is compromised. We spread awareness to generate demand for toilets and train communities for long-lasting impact.

Good hygiene

Good hygiene practice is one of the most effective ways to safeguard health. We promote it amongst children and adults, starting with the simple act of handwashing.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At the WASH Society, we believe that the partnership of rural India with corporates, young urban India, the Government and other foundations is the key to create a permanent and irreversible change for good.

Our Approach

We believe everyone, everywhere, should have access to clean water as a basic right. We want to see a world where everyone has clean water and adequate sanitation, and the increased health and prosperity this brings.
Our approach is to support marginalised people across India through community-led development, rather than aid; and to focus on sustainability and quality, ensuring a project's transformative impact is felt for decades to come.

Sustainability

Our projects and solutions are sustainable and designed and developed to last, for maximum benefit to the communities they serve. Our approach ensures community-ownership, which is key to a project's sustainability. We believe in transforming lives for the long-term, and we aim to monitor our projects for a minimum of 10 years after completion.
